Saturday, June 02, 2012 6:30:17 PM @baelzar. My university degree is in a biology field, but I had to take several humanities electives along with my major. I took a philosophy class, and the content went in the direction of the nature of man if God did not exist and humans had no soul. I didnt say much in the class, just took notes followed/learned the various arguments, tried to figure out what the prof was looking for. One class, the prof singled me out and asked me directly " What is the purpose of life if the soul doesnt exist ?" I was momentarily socially awkward penguin, blank, then fell back on biology. I glanced at a pretty girl who usually sat to my right, looked back at the prof, and said "to pass your genes on to the next generation". After about 20 seconds of stunned silence, the prof walked over to the other side of the classroom and awkwardly carried on. I passed the class, btw.... |

Saturday, June 02, 2012 3:21:49 PM Look up the benefits of regular exercise and you'll get a very similar list. That being said, these are still great reasons to bump uglies. |

Saturday, June 02, 2012 2:17:16 PM I guess they missed the obvious one: Sex passes on your genome, which is your entire purpose of being alive. |

Saturday, June 02, 2012 2:08:00 PM My excitement in every activity I've ever engaged in has peaked, waned and disappeared, except for sex. Sex is the only thing I don't get tired of (so far) and I hope that doesn't change. Otherwise life would really suck. |

Saturday, June 02, 2012 1:53:09 PM Hmm.. Maybe the 'health benefits' angle will help me get some. After all, it's mutually beneficial. |
