@collegebound Do you even know the story? The police didn't detain Zimmerman because the local prosecutor told them not to. It's that simple.

if this was true then they would have looked into this case as a homicide as the first officer on the scene suggested to do in the first place...if they were mad at him they would have gotten a hold of him a LONG time ago...

Sounds to me like he didn't like the police or the job they were doing until he met the community outreach coordinator, a smokin' hot Babe. If you read what's available out there, he was critical of the police, but very complimentary of the community outreach coordinator who helped him set up his neighborhood watch program. And complimented her in most flowery terms to the Chief of Police, saying that she'd restored his faith in the Sandford PD.

Why any of that makes any difference, I don't know? To me, provided the police did their jobs, the DAs did/do their job, and the court system does it's job, all will be well.

So basically Zimmerman agrees that the police in the area are too lazy to do their job.

Ahh ahh ahh. We are all forgetting.

The cops wanted to PRESS CHARGES the night of.

The D.A. said no. Not enough evidence.

I swear. All the cop hate on this site, but if the cop hate is toward Zimmerman, it's "NOTHING TO SEE HERE! MOVE ALONG!"

@DrProfessor
Right, because, contrary to popular belief, there are actually good police officers out there. They had no reason to arrest them and the local prosecutor told them to let him go. When the special prosecutor called for his arrest later, he was arrested. The police have really just been doing their job in this incident. There are some really dick cops out there that care more about 'getting the bad guys and punk ass kids' than protecting the people. However, there are also some police who take their job very seriously and try to protect people. Hell, in some areas, a police can't pull someone over and NOT run the risk of losing his or her life.
If a cop acts like a douche and acts like a bully, then I don't see any reason anyone should show him respect, but don't make assumptions about all police officers. Some of them legitimately do take great risk to keep your ass safe.

No more Zimmerman. Let the process work. No one likes seeing how sausage is made, we just want to see it done.

...but they were reluctant to arrest him until public opinion swelled into an outroar. This is nonsense. God dammit, Fox.

It's a pretty damning indictment of our society when it actually makes the news that police DIDN'T carrying out a personal vendetta against a citizen but instead followed the law.

No, of course it didn't. If it had the would have arrested him right away. The police were not going to arrest at all until the mobs arrived.

Grasping at straws for a story.

Link: Zimmerman's Relationship With Police In Question [Rate Link] - He rode along with them but openly criticized them at a town meeting. Did this effect the way they handled his case?
