The other reason I'm alright with Nolan's work is that his films look like real movies. One of the problems I have with the genre is that the films have to rely so heavily on CGI, due to the nature of the subject matter. I hate over-reliance on CGI in movies. |

In my opinion TDK was a better movie.
But Avengers was more entertaining. |

That may well be, but I just can't take the genre anymore. I'm tired of the way it's taken over Hollywood. What I do like about Nolan's work is that he did a decent job of rationalizing the characters psychologically, rather than making it about adolescent fantasies in absurd costumes. |

Avengers is a great movie by itself. Way better than TDK.
I love Nolan though. All of his movies have been masterpieces. |

The more footage I see, the more an article I read called "Why Nolan will kill Bruce Wayne" makes sense. It's a thorough theory, but you'll see the trailers differently after reading it. I'm still going to go see it. TDK was incredible. |

AJ: I really have no interest in seeing The Avengers. As I said, I don't like comic book movies much. I basically decided a while ago to abstain from them all from now on, with The Dark Knight Rises as the lone exception since I like Nolan as a filmmaker. |

I'm glad my expectations are low for this one. I had really high expectations for The Dark Knight and they weren't really met. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a decent film, just not quite what everyone else says it is. The best parts of Nolan's Batman series for me are still the first 2/3rds of Batman Begins.
But I don't really like comic book movies and these are by far the best I've seen from that genre. |
