Saturday, May 26, 2012 9:41:59 AM It's a ploy to give other brown colored people free food while charging whitey. Oh gotcha, see I must be confused because I'm not sure how what they are doing stops white people from getting a free pizza too? As I pointed out nearly any idiot with an internet connection can learn to say, "I'd like a large pepperoni pizza please," in Spanish. As for teaching Spanish most also teach Italian, German, sometimes Portugese, and in some cases even Latin or other old or remote languages so your point is pretty moot. As for Cinco de Mayo? It's only even a holiday in one small part of Mexico, it's the United States that celebrates that as a National Holiday. Educate yourself, little bigot. |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 10:31:37 AM "It seems to punish people who can't speak Spanish, and I resent that" Crybaby conservative can't take the five minutes to use google translate. Also hilarious because I thought they were supposed to be pro-business. |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 10:16:01 AM If it were a specific phrase, though still discriminatory from a legal business standpoint, it wouldn't be such a fuss. But they're not asking you to come in and say "I love pizza!" in spanish, they're asking you to place your individual order in spanish. They would instantly lose in court. |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 9:52:35 AM Not sure what their angle is but since you don't even need to be fluent in Spanish I don't see anything wrong with this. |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 9:44:15 AM white people, calm down, you still own everything. not everything in this country has to be about you, for you or with you. just chill ORRRRR you could branch out a little, expand your mind a bit and learn a new langauge or at least a few words of one. white people act like they are losing everything any time a minority group doesn't something that does not reflect white mainstream America...and they yell how unfair the world is to them...that part right there makes me face palm every time. It's like Bill gates arguing he isn't rich enough and it's not fair. |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 9:27:13 AM Doubtful, Pink. I've grown up in a Hispanic dominated community and can tell you right away that isn't the case. It's a ploy to give other brown colored people free food while charging whitey. I can't tell you how many times I've seen that happen at various stores right in front of me. They'll walk in, grab whatever items they want, the man behind the register nods and let's him walk out for free while I'm stuck paying for my poo. I've seen it far too many times to sit here and be naive to them spreading their "culture". We teach Spanish all across the country in high school and celebrate cinco de mayo. Gtfo |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 9:05:21 AM Sounds discriminative to me. They're basically saying drat you to anyone who doesn't speak Spanish. Odd, I don't remember seeing it say they wouldn't serve people who didn't speak Spanish. I didn't see where it said you must be a native speaker. Five minutes on google to learn a sentence in another language for free food? DISCRIMINATION. They are encouraging folks to learn about other cultures even if trivially. Get over it. |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 8:15:06 AM How is giving people free pizza if they say "yeah I have a voucher, it's promo code XY254" fine, but giving people free pizza if they say "quiero una pizza gratis, por favor" discrimination? |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 7:51:37 AM I would say that there would be a fair chance of someone winning a discrimination suit and getting more free pizza! |

Thursday, May 24, 2012 7:31:38 AM @bacon_pie you should read articles before you comment on them seeing as how the article clearly stated, "But Pizza Patrón is no stranger to controversial promos. In 2007, it promoted that fact it would start accepting (and still does) Mexican pesos" no need to reiterate. Jus sayin' |

As long as they do this equitably. You know, honor all the differant cultures... June 6 - ebonics [point gun]"hand over the pizza muthaf*cka!" June 7 - in Redneck, "You got any Eye-tallion peezzu?" June 8 - Asian "You too spensive!? We go MacDonalds!" It helps if you put your fingers at the outside corner of your eye and pull when you say that one.

Thursday, May 24, 2012 7:25:10 AM No big surprise with Pizza Patron. In 2007, they ran a promotion "Pizza for Pesos", where they accepted Mexican currency. |
