that poor kid was not the kid pictured in the media he was a rather big fellow - big enough to think he could take a wee hispanic fellow. the police are going to wait till things cool down in a few months and drop any charges |

I feel I have the right to go anywhere in this country that I please. Some of those places have a higher crime rate than others.
Full disclosure: I was mugged once in Downtown Birmingham (Black guy with a knife), and I had my pistol on me. Didn't use it, because they didn't strike me.
Almost got in a fight once in some redneck drinkery. Guy broke a bottle and took a swipe at me (White hick moron). Gun came out that time. He cried and said he was sorry. |

The bill of rights says I can own my handgun, and I legally carry mine wherever I go.
If I were to ever get in a situation that warranted it, I would use it. If not, I won't.
We are guaranteed 3 things by living here. LIFE (protected by my firearm), LIBERTY (to carry my firearm), and the pursuit of HAPPINESS (insured, by my firearm. Can't be happy, if I am fearful). |

Neighborhood watch members don't carry weapons they call the cops and stay out of the way. No one carries a weapon unless they intend to use it. This non-nice individual drated up and now he's going to get crucified. |

That is contradictory of the evidence at hand. Think like a jury is supposed to. You MUST judge based off available evidence, NOT what you THINK happened. What evidence do we have?
Zimmerman (neighborhood watch member) sees a kid (unsure of race) and follows him, because there have been a very large number of break ins in the area.
He gets out of his car, to WALK on foot behind the kid. Zimmerman now notices he is black. Zimmerman confronts the kid (not violently, just askes why he is there) and Trayvon runs away.
Zimmerman remarks to the dispatcher, that "They always get away", and gets off the phone with the dispatcher. Then, Trayvon returns, and jumps Zimmerman as he is walking back to his car. Trayvon is on top of Zimmerman, punching him in the face, and smashing his head on the ground.
Zimmerman, fearing for his life, reaches into his waistband, and retrieves his personal sidearm, that is licensed.
