I was just messing with ya. I get yelled at for being messy by my boss all the time. (I'm not a computer geek. More of a communications geek.) I always tell him that as long as things are jumbled and undocumented, he can't afford to get rid of me.
The worst is when I come up on my own work a year or so later and can't figure out what I was thinking when I did it the first time. Recently I came upon an unlabeled switch that I had screwed into the side of a distribution block. I distinctly remembered putting in the switch, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out what would happen if I threw it. |

You caught me. I'm not really a geek. I was too lazy for college. Computers were an easy path. I definitely wasn't a management suit though. I was fun party boss - just expected things done correctly so we wouldn't have to waste time doing things over (sloppy cabling with no color code leads to so much needless work and wasted time down the road). |

If it is, you failed. You are most definitely not a geek. A geek's cabling is always sloppy as hell. Only management suits want neat cables. |
