See, although I'm not a big action movie fan, I really like Bond films, they're always just a cut above, and a lot more epic and have a great story.
I'm really looking forward to it :) |

I agree with Bremir. I think Lazenby was the best followed by Connery and Moore. Dalton was ok. Too bad for us that Lazenby was a pain to work with. |

This really pisses me off.
No, it's good. The populist belief outside the UK that England=Britain means that we Celts don't get the blame for all those horrible wars and stuff when we go on holiday. Most non-British people think of Scottish and Irish people in the same category of mythical being as pixies, leprechauns and fairies, and are so surprised to find that we actually exist that they don't associate us with those unpopular British wars that the 'English' are responsible for. |

I take it most of the 'not bond anymore' have never read the books.
I think the bit in QofS where he knifed the guy and calmly let him bleed out in QoS was darker in its own way than anything in TDK or Inception.
Bond is an assassin, and therefore an evil See-you-next-Tuesday. |

mentott510 - Exactly. They aren't fun. I think either last year or before, I got the Bond boxset and watched through all the films up to Quantum of Solace. I now hold the very unpopular opinion that Connery, Lazenby and Moore are great to watch, a lot of fun.
I like Dalton, but from Dalton to Brosnan to Craig they get, to me, more and more boring. At this point, like I think I said, you could take the Bond name off the film and it'd just be your typical action film. Or looks like it from the trailer. |

I gave up on Bond flix years ago. They stopped being fun or even mildly entertaining. I agree that they have become generic action films. |

Not really, no.
Because nothing in this trailer stood out, to me, as a Bond film. It looked and felt like your average action film. Take out the Bond name and keep the name Skyfall, and I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to call this James Bond.
I'll wait until I've seen the film to pass judgement, but from the trailer it doesn't do anything for me. |

I didn't know who he was. I just Googled him, and he's not my type I'm afraid - too pretty and too young. You can have him. ;)
Despite not liking films much as general rule, I did quite like the first Bond film with Daniel Craig in it - mainly because he himself was so different and good in the role. The second film wasn't up to much, though. This one looks like it could be back to the good stuff. I might go and see it at IMAX. |

Daniel Craig is the worst Bond ever. Not his fault I suppose, but true. They took everything "Bond" out of the character. No secret gadgets, no tricked out car, no women with stupid provocative names, no silly quips. Now heineken has a product placement deal so Bond drinks beer instead of a martini, shaken not stirred. SACRILEGE!
Craig's movies are good action adventure flicks, but they are not "Bond".

Looked like every other Bond movie to me. Trying to be dark like TDK or Inception.
I love Bond don't get me wrong, but out of the last two, Casino was okay, and QofS was poo balls. |
