Wednesday, May 23, 2012 9:03:45 AM Wow, there's something that a religion teaches that's self-contradictory and/or makes no sense? I'm so very shocked. Really though, I'm pretty sure that most of us here could write god damn essays filled with questions like the above. Speaking of satan, if god's all powerful, why does satan even exist? God should be able to blink him from existence, especially since allegedly god should have seen satan coming for, you know, all of eternity. For a perfect, omnipresent, omnipotent entity that transcends time and space, god certainly seems to get blindsided by a lot of things and have some very arbitrary constraints. I mean, it took the guy(the thing?) 6 whole days to make the earth and he even had to 'rest' on the 7th day! What a pansy! |

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 6:20:38 PM I went to the site and asked them the same question. They said they have been asked a lot lately and wondered what site it came from. Plus they said that the devil doesn't punish, just tempts people away from God's plan. |

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 6:22:45 AM The Devil does not punish anyone. In fact, according to the Bible, the devil isn't currently in hell. The only time hell in ever directly described in the Bible is in Revelations which calls it a lake of fire that the devil and all goats (non-believers) are cast into during the end times. As such: 1. Hell is currently empty and will not be filled until armageddon. 2. The devil will not rule in hell, he will simply burn with the rest of us.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 5:59:00 AM @Swaywithme I've watched every episode (and to be honest my favorite is Hammer of the Gods. I loved Gabriel impersonating Loki) Anyways, I am a Christian and well, there really shouldn't be no sympathy for the devil. I mean sure he may punish the wicked but if he could, he would punish even the righteous if they weren't under God's protection BECAUSE of Lucifer's hatred for being cast out for not bowing down to (Ta da) Us! ok I'm done :P This post is pretty funny though. Everyone's so sensitive now a days, especially blacks. And to those black people: I am Scottish. When you guys were getting the whip, I was in Scotland cooking haggis and making weapons for my other clans to kill each other with. We had it pretty bad too lol. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 10:39:01 PM Not to be a total fangirl, but I'm an avid Supernatural fan and I always thought Lucifer got the short end of the stick. Lucifer: "Why? Why would I want to destroy this stunning thing?[Earth] *Beautiful* in a trillion different ways. The last, *perfect* handiwork of God? Do you know the story of how I fell from grace? Why God cast me down? Because I *loved* him. More than anything, and then God created...You. The little, hairless apes, and then he asked all of us to bow down before *you*. To love *you*, more than Him. And I said, Father, please, I can't. I said these human beings are flawed, murderous. And for that, God had Michael cast me into Hell. Now tell me, does the punishment fit the crime? Especially when I was right? Look what six billion of you have done to this beautiful thing and how many of you blame me for it." |

Monday, May 21, 2012 10:38:01 PM This is a large reason why if the bible is factual, then I'd do my damnedest to kill god should i ever meet him, because HE is the evil one. I'm willing to bet that in some dark corner of Hell, there's a legion or more of warriors like you and me planning the same thing, waiting for their numbers to reach the perfect point so they can launch an assault on god's domain. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 10:35:22 PM It's God who decides that the evil people are being punished by Satan. omfg Satan doesn't punish anyone. That is why he leads us away from God only to punish us afterward. Ok I don't know if Satan in Mormonism punishes you on a prison planet orbiting Kolob or something but unless the Mormon Bible has some extra sections that say different, there is no mention of Satan running hell like some kind of a weird jailor. That stupid notion was inspired by "Paradise Lost." |

Monday, May 21, 2012 10:15:30 PM defendors87, you used the term 'sentenced,' and you may not have thought through the implications, but if it truly were a sentence, wouldn't that make the god the judge? And if god is the judge, isn't he in a position to lift the sentence, thereby enabling the prospect of forgiveness for this ultimate condemned? Are you sure that is how you meant to put it? |

Monday, May 21, 2012 9:49:35 PM Everyone here should read the comic series Lucifer, it'll all make sense after that. I mean really, the devil is only considered evil because he defied God's will by giving humanity knowledge, apparently. That wasn't God's plan. And now he's a critical process in doing to evil souls the work that God wants done to them before he's willing to save them from hell. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 9:32:08 PM All lucifer did was stand up for him and his kind. It's the same thing if Hitler's right hand man were to stand up to him and say 'I think you are wrong.' In which case hitler would have him killed most likely. This is a large reason why if the bible is factual, then I'd do my damnedest to kill god should i ever meet him, because HE is the evil one. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 8:17:55 PM To my understanding of this Christian thing on the devil and god, is that they are the same entity/creature/person. It's comparable to that of person with bi-polar disorder. And that the perception of Heaven and Hell is the "eye of the beholder"; in other words the same freaking place. If you don't live your life to it's optimum potential and/or prevent others from doing so, then don't expect to "live it up" in the "after life". It's a Karma thing...3 fold rule...or as most that are raised in the Christian beliefs, the 'golden rule'---do un to others as they would do un to you what you giveth to others, will 3 fold return back upon you. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 7:56:39 PM also, remember that Satan is sentenced to eternal torment worse than anybody could ever feel. He is the most miserable being in the history of the universe. His greatest wish is to make men miserable like him. That is why he leads us away from God only to punish us afterward. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 7:13:15 PM Actually, I've thought of this same thing in an alternative manner - why WOULD the Devil punish those who do his bidding? Doesn't make sense to me. He would have to be MORAL (good) to reprimand the wrongdoers (and by reprimand, I mean an eternity in boundless torment and by wrongdoers, I mean those who've yet to accept Jesus as their lord and savior). |

Monday, May 21, 2012 7:12:50 PM Although I'm not religious, this is theologically easily answered... It's God who decides that the evil people are being punished by Satan. If it were up to Satan, he'd be torturing all of us, good and bad alike, and that's why he's evil. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 7:11:55 PM im not one to advocate religion but... satan punishes evil yes but he also cause you to sin and commit evil deeds so he tempts people into doing bad things so they goto hell then he punishes them for his own sick pleasure |
