Saturday, May 19, 2012 10:39:08 AM 5cats, not true. I get so tired of hearing this codswallop. #1. There was no exit polling that quantified race. #2. The real divide was between Town and Country, not black and white. Relevant quote: "In each of NC's largest cities, voters in majority black precincts rejected the measure, Charlotte 52%, Raleigh 51%, Greensboro 54%, Winston-Salem 55%, and Durham 65%. Durham's results were dramatic, not a single majority black precinct supported the amendment. Several crushed it by margins of 3-1 and even 4-1." Stop doing NOM's dirty work. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 7:28:58 AM @DOR: It was 2:1 amoung Blacks voting to support the ban. While 90% is an exaggeration, the fact remains Blacks strongly oppose gay marriage. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 7:01:19 AM Why do Republicans always want to confuse equal rights with special rights? Un-American prigs. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 6:02:17 AM The fact that we're even ALLOWED to vote on civil rights issues is a complete and total distortion of the Constitution. To say that we're going to write into law clear and obvious discrimination (which is what it is to treat one group of people differently than another--hetero couples get tax breaks and other legal privileges from the government that homosexual couples cannot) is so completely illegal and so obviously unconstitutional that there ought not even be a discussion. The fact that there is one, and that some people actually support it, shows a shocking shortsightedness on their part. Because, you allow it today, what's to say that tomorrow it won't be red hair or being female that's being discriminated against? I have to say, though, what makes me happy is seeing the polling numbers in college-aged kids today, on both sides of the political isle. You dinosaur religious nutjobs are about to be voted out. Praise be to Jeebus! |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 12:59:57 AM What has this got to do with gay marriage? Note that the word "MARRIAGE" is a rather important part of the objection of the NC voters (not just GOP). No-one has voted against kissing. |

man on man kissing violates sodomy laws. I know, it's stupid, but straight politicians defined "sodomy" to include kissing. |

Friday, May 18, 2012 8:16:00 PM Actually, they should be doing this in predominantly democrat, African-American neighborhoods.Seeing 90% of them voted against gay marriage. |
