Sunday, May 20, 2012 10:16:43 PM LOL @ people that act like Obama did this himself. Funny times. Did you know? This is not that big of a deal. Preaching so much about other people buying into everything they read and then letting this skewed story work you up makes for great irony. Stop drinking the anti-Obama kool-aid, people. |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 9:40:25 AM 5Cats, I didn't need to explain anything. I was clear from the beginning. My apologies for not writing in easily-digestible fifth grade level sound bites. I forgot that I'm mostly dealing with the iPod generation here. My first post said the following and only poor reading habits can make it anything other than what it was, "the WH media team's job is to advocate for the job the president and his team and cabinet are doing. Obama not only didn't invent this, he's no different than any of them who've come before when it comes to self-promotion and self back slapping." |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 9:21:10 AM @SmagBoy1: Well, at least 3 readers thought you were saying exactly that: other presidents altered bios, so the error was on your side. Since you've explained otherwise, fine, but don't blame the reader for not understanding. @OldOllie is correct: The Obamanaughts trying desperately to "spin" out of this hole is hysterically funny! |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 6:09:15 AM Auburn, I was very clear, actually, about the fact that I was talking about media teams expanding the President's brand, about working his public image, in crass and shameful ways. I compared the actions outlined in this link to past president's efforts, and those are the words I used. I didn't aim my initial comments at anyone, and I even specifically pointed out that ALL presidents do it, so that I wasn't even making it a DEM/REPUB thing. And I definitely didn't aim my comments at anyone here until they went after me. I'm not wrong here, and reviewing my posts with even basic reading skills will make obvious what I was saying. Just because I didn't fall into the typical argument doesn't make wrong what I stated. |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 5:43:31 AM leesah, only an extremely simple-minded git would have assumed I meant that every president ever has edited the WH website to update their bios. I was very clear about the fact that, even asking which presidential media team in the past *hasn't* done this (or, you know, the non-Internet equivalent back in the days prior to the Interwebz)? And, apparently I bother to think about things long enough to properly use the website's coding methods, too. But, I wouldn't expect someone who needs everything spoonfed to them in exact detail to understand that, either. |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 12:52:09 AM I have a few things to say about this. First of all, I don't so much see it beyond the pale for an administration to tote its own accomplishments, even in the context of stemming from or carrying on the legacy of former presidents. But I have to say it's interesting that the White House points out Truman, but not the guy who re-instituted armed-forces segregation - Woodrow Wilson. That's right, the same guy who ushered in the era of the Federal Reserve. Obama has a lot more in common with this guy, despite the racial incongruity, than he ever will with Truman. Secondly, I'm not sure boosting one's administration on the back of efforts the likes of Johnson's really secures one's credibility. Medicare is NOT a good thing, and Johnson would have never considered something of the nature that is the 'Affordable Care Act.' Thirdly Reagan - I'm pretty sure he would have secured said tax reform by LOWERING the secretary's rate, not RAISING the CEO's. Could be wrong on that |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 12:00:21 AM It's just a "Did You Know?" section that lists various facts and their relevance to the Obama Administration... As usual american politics is all about getting the furthest away from actual debates and facts. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 11:18:59 PM Next up: Republicans think Obama edits the Whitehouse website, but don't credit him with decisions he was actually involved in. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 10:35:39 PM "hat's *exactly* what I meant, precisely, that no president had ever done exactly that one, single thing!" Ohhhh, we were supposed to guess that you were being vague and ambiguous to detract from the actuality of the situation in order defend your beloved pseudo-christ. Sorry, my b! |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 8:55:29 PM @jamie76 That's funny because Bush Jr. actually has higher grades and scores than Obama. What does your comment say about Obama then? |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 8:29:52 PM This story in the link was pretty funny, but not nearly as funny as the liberal Obama apologists here all making excuses and trying to explain how there's nothing to this. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 8:07:14 PM If any of those who are spewing hatred against the president even bothered to go to the website, they'd see that information was NOT inserted into those bios, there was simply a 'did you know' box. This is standard and just more learning about the current president. |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 7:39:40 PM when Bush Jr. was in office the "Did you Know" sections said. "Did you know: President Bush once counted to 10 and only needed help with the first nine numbers." |

Saturday, May 19, 2012 6:32:11 PM question...is the white house website a historical website, or a PR website for the current website? if it's the latter, he's well within his right to do so, as will the next president who comes into office, and the one following...it's not unexpected that there will be plenty of references to the current position holder and it's not as if they are etched in store or some ancient document...they WILL be edited and altered as the position changes...this isn't news |
