Monday, May 21, 2012 12:18:13 PM I don't understand how it sounds in time. If the people at the back followed the conductor, they wouldn't be hearing the music until nearly a second later. If the sang to the music they would be way out of time with the front rows. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 10:42:46 AM I live in Beethoven's birth town - Bonn. They make a lot of fuss here about him having grown up here - we get gazillions of tourists taking a pic of the statue of him in the main square, and there's a month long festival in his honour every autumn. What they fail to mention in the tourist blurb is that he hated Bonn with a passion and left as soon as possible, never to return. |

Monday, May 21, 2012 3:51:12 AM The 2 main-singing Ladies just open and shut their mouth without singing a real word. Impossible to understand anything from them. The third verse is complete nonsens by all of the singers. But First and second one are performed in a very impressive way. Never thought such a huge number of japanese people could sing that clear in a language like german. |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 10:12:10 PM To paraphrase what someone once remarked of the cathedrals of Europe, the only shame is that such a magnificent work should be dedicated to such a preposterous concept as religion. |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 12:30:34 PM That's amazing. Coordinating that had to be crazy hard. Can you imagine rehearsals? One problem with having that many people, as can be heard in the video, is that they have to be really spread out, and you run into issues with sound delay across that huge amphitheater. It sort of starts to sound muddled, even if everyone is singing perfectly together. |

Sunday, May 20, 2012 11:52:25 AM 10,000 people, that's amazing! Such an even number you would have thought they'd have like 10,007 or something. #mitchhedberg |
