We aren't 'owned', in fact we are fought over, competed for, catered too (in most cases). The consumer has the power. The mere mention of a boycott these days sways board rooms into action.
Indeed Carlin himself may indeed have felt that he was owned, talent agents pretty much do 'own' their talent, but that does not mean the rest of us are.
If you see yourself as 'exploited' then you always will be. See yourself as empowered and nothing can stop you. |

Apparently anarchy is the only answer. I don't agree with him anyway. Yes, rich people own and run the country, but the politicians are their puppets, not the masters. Don't blame the government, it's just an extension of the economy. |

It's not passively accepting anything. It's called having to go to work because I typically like to eat and sleep in a house everyday. Furthermore, what did "Occupy (enter city)" accomplish? If you want something better in life, then do it. Stop blaming everyone else for YOUR failures in life.
But I do like George Carlin and agree with this for the most part. |

And yet they are beaten. And the older generation doesn't care. The money will still be there for them, but not for us.
