Imno advocate of anything but im pretty sure the 'lords name in vain' thing is actually in regard to the 'idle hands' thing. For example people that say "please lord let there be a sandwich made when i get home" or " please lord let me be beautiful". Basically dont ask for stupid poo you cant do yourself. My interpretation is worth exactly jack and poo but there you go. |

Most people misinterpret this commandment and most 'Christians' and 'Jews' are guilty of breaking this. Sure, we should not blaspheme in the words we use (thoughts and actions are related). However, part of being a Christian is taking the name of Christ upon us and being willing to follow Him. Taking his name in vain is calling oneself a follower of Christ (or Jehovah, for that matter) and then not actually following Him. |
