If you live in California you get taxed 11% and 35% from the federal government. That's a crapload of money. I am no way rich, but I do feel if you pay remotely close to ½ your income, it should be enough. Not to mention California is saying it's still not enough.
I like how w/ EBT cards and the such work at Jack-in-the-box and 7-eleven. Not to mention no regulation on buying Lobsters or Filet Mignon. Poor people can eat better than most rich people in the US. |

God forbid that someone who EARNS money should be ALOWED to keep it!
It ALL belongs to the government!
Regardless of our job, we should ALL reciev EXACTLY the same wage!!

Also *write offs* excuse me. Pretty disproportionate to don't you think? Even at 35 percent, proportionally rich people aren't hurt as badly. Guy makes 10 million a year he pays what? 3,500,000 in taxes? he still has over 6 million dollars left. That's more than enough to be set for life. So yeah, I'd say they still aren't paying enough. |

He's only butt hurt about his taxes because his career is over and he doesn't have the dough rolling in anymore. As for the whole they don't pay their taxes thing, the majority don't, because most rich income is from real estate and investments which is all capital gains. Capital gains tax I believe is about 15 percent (just to compare the lowest income bracket pays 10 percent, and the rich used to pay 90 percent in the 60's during Vietnam so kindly shut up about "high taxes" these days). Most don't pay any capital gains taxes though because there are so many loopholes they can get out of most of it with right offs. |

There is nothing stopping Stephen King, George Soro, Will Smith or any Democrat from refusing to take tax write offs and there is nothing stopping Warren Buffett from raising his own taxes by voluntarily contributing 30% of his income to the government. If you make 1 million dollars or more then show me the 30% of your income check you wrote to Uncle Sam, or shut up. |

In all, the Obamas paid 26 percent of their adjusted gross income in federal income taxes. The Bidens paid 23 percent.

@patchouly: Maybe if you knew me, or came to my neighborhood, you'd see that what you're spreading is a divisive talking point that relies on generalization and stereotypes, yet does little to address the goals of a more liberal ideology. It's one thing to go after people who make money in unethical ways, or do it in ways that take away from those that make less. It's another just to have contempt just because we're successful.
