Wednesday, May 09, 2012 1:06:33 PM "Saving a few shekels"? I didn't know eugenius was from Israel...oh wait...they aren't. OH OH OH lmao, NOW I get the joke. Saving Dollars is not as funny as Saving Shekels because it implies the person doing the saving is jewish because jews love them some savings...right? I know...I am an irritating old fart...but here I am...sitting in blissful ignorance. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 11:07:48 AM Don't know why everyone is going on about the safety just from assumption. I saw a video a while back that rated the Smart Car as one of the safest vehichles to drive, it showed a crash test in which it went into a brick wall at like, 60-70mph. The frame only bent slightly because of the strong metal type they use in building it, you'd be completely safe in one. Apart from your legs, I guess. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 10:21:49 AM That's legal parking here in Germany, several of our senior managers have one as their company car (they could have a big fat merc or BMW, but choose not to). |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 10:17:47 AM I prefer under 10mpg when I am not in 5th or 6th gear. Of course if I am in 5th or 6th gear I am doing well over 100 |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 10:15:41 AM Saving time? It is non-nice individuals like these that get on highways doing 15-20mph by the time we are off the ramp that slow the rest of us down. I can only imagine the 0-60 in 15 minutes slows them down more than me, because as soon as this poo is out of my way they will see nothing but exhaust. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 7:42:55 AM 3 out of 6 cars parked outside my window right now are cars in the same size class as this one, they're quite common around these parts. I wonder what kind of world we would live in if people stopped worrying so much about what other people thought about them and just went about their business. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 5:43:00 AM I'll stick to the Corolla pretty much the same mpg, costs less and can actually survive a crash. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 5:29:20 AM Regardless if it fits, I'm guessing that he or she would still get a ticket because they are parked illegally. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 5:25:02 AM Have any of you ever seen what happens when one of these gets into a serious crash? Let's just say you leave in multiple pieces. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 1:41:21 AM The first smart car was produced in 1998. 14 years ago. But no, this is brand new and not boring. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 1:05:01 AM As long as I don't have to spend 20min every day trying to find a parking spot, it's better. |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 11:50:54 PM Crash test show the a smart car is *very* robust, as shown when one was driven into a stationary barrier at 60mph. Unfortunately humans are not so robust, and would be reduced to jelly by such impact. Primary safety is about avoiding crashes altogether, by having a car that drives and handles well and can be seen out of. Not one that gives the illusion of being in an invulnerable tank. So smart confident able drivers will tend to drive smaller, more agile cars, whilst scaredy cat jagweeds go for big hulks that handle like a 2 tonne jelly.

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 11:44:16 PM Check out the Diablo mod. Also, in a motorcycle crash you often leave the bike. That could go either way of course. |
