Wednesday, May 09, 2012 1:19:15 PM For the record, my kids have all been that age/stage (they are older now), and it struck me as a cruel thing to do, and, it seems the parents are doing this for entertainment at the kid's expense. It's just my opinion, but I never did/would have done that to my own kids...ever. It's not about being overprotective, it's about not being so self-absorbed and mean. |

Wednesday, May 09, 2012 7:12:12 AM Good survival skills by the little un. Freeze until mom+1 comes along, and becomes more obvious target, then run like the clappers. Reminds me of the "don't run from bears because it will make them want to give chase and they are faster" theory. It was on a trip with several friends when a bear appeared that I learned that the theory does not apply when certain friends believe they are fastest in the group. Luckily they were wrong and more-so because the bear didn't bat an eye at us. |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 9:40:36 PM Cute indeed, TBH I think the parents are doing just fine. Keeping your kid with you AT ALL TIMES is pretty much just as bad as keeping him on a leash... He's running down a path in view of multiple other parents and his own, what could go /that/ badly? Seriously, not your kid. |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 7:36:41 PM I love that it took him so long to evaluate the situation before he decided that it was important to "wun" away |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 5:57:07 PM @Thdot: @WhiteMn is quoting @SteelGrid, who apperently doesn't like one of the finest baby-carrying devices used throught history by almost every culture on Earth since the dawn of time... for some reason... |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 3:40:02 PM Very cute, sort of funny, but they did let him run for a bit too far before they made their half-arsed attempt to get him back |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 2:50:09 PM Woah I love how people thinking this is not ok, its a family joke, didn't your family play pranks on you? I'm a parent of four well adjusted kids and we've played pranks like this its like a strange version of don't touch the hot stove. As long as you explain afterwards its fake even walk the kid up and touch the fake dinosaur say its all good which is what they would have done. Parents these days are too scared of poo which is making their kids unhealthy kids need to play in dirt otherwise their body won't build an immunity, you never let your kids run around bare foot their feet won't get stronger, they steal food you take them to the psychologist... what ever happened to a smack? the kid did the wrong thing, the kid doesn't have some deep seated mother issues. Let kids be kids, let parents have some fun I know mine did so I'll do the same and you can never called it child abuse because my kids are the first one who can assess the danger and help out if they can! |

Tuesday, May 08, 2012 1:52:56 PM Well, that was just brutal. Mom - "Are you scared?" Wtf, how about thinking before you open your mouth. You are suppose to be a parent, not lead him to nightmare territory. Dad - (filming)(kid has run 75yds away by now)"Come back". Put down the camera, take the little kid's hand, and explain to him what the deal is (its not real, just like a big toy). Of course, the Youtube glory is what's important, and not a single f*ck appears to be given about the poor kid. Complete. Parenting. Fail. |
