Yeah, not fake. As others have said, its called a back draft. There are 3 elements that sustain a fire - heat, fuel, and oxygen. Sometimes, a fire in a sealed room can consume the oxygen but leave superheated, flammable gases that will auto-ignite once oxygen is introduced back into the room. The rapid combustion of these gases in the enclosed space causes an explosion. |

Ah, old photo, and often misunderstood. The man aflame is actually flying TOWARD the fire. This gentleman, well known locally as a pyromaniac, had doused himself with gasoline, bounded off a portable trampoline, and was heard screaming as he flew through the air, "BRING IT, BABY!"
OK, all kidding aside, I hope the man wasn't seriously injured. Looks like a gas explosion.
