Monday, May 07, 2012 8:44:52 PM patchgrabber: You can't stop people from wanting to commit terrorist acts But we can choose where those attacks are located and it's much better that they happen over there than here. Also Saddam and Osama both declared war on the USA many years ago. Their goal wasn't invasion, their goal was destruction. Quit denying the fact that the world is better off without Saddam and Osama, their threats are gone and the whole world is safer. |

Monday, May 07, 2012 9:08:28 AM But I'm guessing you'd also say we shouldn't have entered WWII, after all Europe and Asia's freedom were none of our concern right? Oh, because Afghanistan and Iraq were waging an actual war on the western world? You're comparing apples and oranges. Would you rather wait and have to fight those 'allah akbar' screaming towel heads on our city streets? This is conservative drivel. You can't stop people from wanting to commit terrorist acts, and invading other countries only makes MORE of them want to do it. Even your own CIA warned against blowback, but what do they know, right? |

Monday, May 07, 2012 7:15:25 AM CrakrJak, Not really. Military intervention in Afghanistan and Iraq has not made us safer from terrorists. I mean, the Afghan army was never going to invade the US or UK. Having said that, military personnel do not get to choose which wars to fight. We do. Collectively we are responsible for what is done by the governments we elect. The troops go where we send them, if we send them to the wrong place or for the wrong reason that does not alter the duty of respect we owe them for going into the mouth of hell at our behest. I prefer that to a system where the military get to make policy. Democracy, it ain't perfect but don't take it out on the PBI. |

Monday, May 07, 2012 6:40:49 AM Buiadh: I referred to militant extremist muslims that want to kill "The Great Satan" as "screaming towel heads", not all muslims. Please get your sh|t straight before you start making accusations. |

Monday, May 07, 2012 5:23:46 AM Did CrakrJak just refer to Muslims as "towel heads"? Is there no end to the bigoted racism from him? |

Monday, May 07, 2012 5:09:04 AM jamie: You're saying that fighting militant extremist muslims that want to kill "The Great Satan", aka the USA, isn't fighting for our freedom? Would you rather wait and have to fight those 'allah akbar' screaming towel heads on our city streets? Or have more terrorist bombings/hijackings here? We had the choice of where to fight those azzholes and we decided to fight them over there instead of here and it was the right decision. We've brought Al Qaeda to it's knees, Bin Laden is dead and so is Saddam. But I'm guessing you'd also say we shouldn't have entered WWII, after all Europe and Asia's freedom were none of our concern right? Get out of here with your peacenik bullsh|t, your sort of narrow minded neo-hippyism would leave us unarmed and at the mercy of our enemies. Do the world a favor jamie, there is a bridge abutment with your name on it somewhere, go find it in your car at high-speed. |

Sunday, May 06, 2012 11:28:57 PM Imagine if occupation of the United States of a major threat were imminent and unavoidable. Now imagine that we just sabotage everything and EVERYBODY leaves. They'd get here and be like 'WTF? There is nothing here for us... I guess we'll just go home??' |

Sunday, May 06, 2012 11:27:03 PM But i fully support the troops and truly wish all of them could come back alive and that only evil people would die during such conflicts. |

Sunday, May 06, 2012 11:26:11 PM Actually, on second thought why the hell should i risk my life to save possessions and a giant block of dirt? I'd leave regardless. I have no debts or duties to this country just because I was born here. |

Sunday, May 06, 2012 11:24:51 PM What jamie said. If there were a draft for this war and i were drafted, i'd leave the country. I will not defend the country against a threat that isn't there. IF there were a legitimate threat, i'd strongly consider fighting. |
