i know girls in real life that look better than any of the girls ive seen in those magazines. if they arent allowed to airbrush/photoshop anymore, theyll just hunt down naturally super-attractive women. and everyone will STILL bitch |

While I think she has the right idea, maybe she's really making a pointless protest. Isn't it up to the reader to decide whether to imitate what they see and strive to be? So if they want to, why not let them. I think girls should be smart enough to make their own decisions by that age. Why not ignore those magazines and let the morons...be morons? |

magazines have ALWAYS airbrushed their models. I think rather than protest that, why don't folks just quit buying those, rag mags and start reading something of substance. |

Must help to get the point across better when you're a pretty girl from the start, lol. But jimbob's right, they -are- focused on this sort of thing, because that's what people crave, especially women, in some ways. Many seem to enjoy picking the sh*t out of other women/men; makes them feel better. I do it too, to a lesser degree, and I don't think it's a bad thing until/unless it leads to harassing people in daily life. |

Hate to say it, but these are the same magazines that have articles showing celebrity 'flaws'. Highlighted areas of fat, bad teeth or a blemish.
These magazines are 90% image focused and the truth is, young girls wouldn't read them if they just reported ordinary looking people. |

@leesah she's not bitching and moaning about them being prettier than her. Who the drat knows what they look like because they airbrush/digitally alter the poo out of people in magazines. She just wants to see real people not digitally altered not girls "uglier" than her. |

How about this little girl grows a pair and stops constantly comparing herself to the models in the magazines? All I see when I read stories like this are a bunch of whiny girls WAHHHH THESE GIRLS ARE PRETTIER THAN ME SO I'M GOING TO CRY ABOUT IT TO THE PUBLIC INSTEAD OF BEING CONFIDENT IN MY OWN NATURAL BUEATYYYYY! If this girl actually had any self-esteem she wouldn't need it validated by this desperate grab for attention. |

@mon360--That's your hormones talking. Everything seems a lot more serious and dire when you're in your teens. Then at some point it clicks that nobody has ever really known how to do anything, the world has always been on the brink of destruction, everyone is always morally outraged at something that doesn't particularly deserve it...but we just keep spinning along through space anyway. |
