I know it's for safety, but it looks like they are wearing Scarves that have become sentient and blood-thirsty so the scarves are slowly eating their heads. |

Saturday, May 05, 2012 1:27:34 PM @eovogt: Regular bike helmets also need to be replaced after each crash. They're basically styrofoam shells that are there to get crushed so that your skull doesn't. |

Saturday, May 05, 2012 8:14:02 AM Hmmm, let's put airbag explosives on the back of your neck and connect them to an experimental attitude sensor. Smart idea not |

Friday, May 04, 2012 5:44:45 PM Wow looks very ineffective, and inefficient seeing as you will need a new one every time |

Friday, May 04, 2012 2:07:18 PM I wish one of the models had tripped and fallen on the runway. I don't mean any ill-will to anyone, but that would have been an excellent demonstration and funny at the same time. |

Friday, May 04, 2012 12:29:51 PM In the demo movie you can see it flatten out where it hits the ground, meaning it would do little to actually reduce injury. What it more, the real danger is when your head hits a curb or a railing, in which case you NEED a hard surface to disperse the impact of the blow, the smaller point of impact would go right through this. Nice idea, but unless they have data to show it reduces injuries, it is worthless. (Or more than worthless because it gives a false sense of security.) |

Friday, May 04, 2012 10:50:43 AM Why take the risk in using a helmet that might not work, solicitors are going to f**k this company till they loved them if this makes to the market. The face plant made me chuckle, couldn't they find a better video than this? |

Friday, May 04, 2012 10:37:30 AM @tedgp "All i saw was a dummy getting its face smashed." Your brain isn't in your face. But yeah, this looks pretty iffy. Like Scuzoid said, it seems like some movements or lack of movements might cause it to not activate. |

Friday, May 04, 2012 10:08:39 AM I wouldn't mind this being a feature in a hard helmet. Like if it expanded around the helmet. But on its own? No thanks. |

Friday, May 04, 2012 9:30:26 AM When I start to fall, my body naturally goes to as much effort as physically possible to keep my eyes on the horizon. From the video, it seems like the helmet doesn't activate until it has rocked 90 degree's from it's standard position. Meaning any sort of bracing for the impact would delay activation and any impact that happens with anything other than the ground (tree/post/car) probably won't trigger the helmet at all. |
