@5Cats Winnie the Pooh was named after two animals: a bear named Winnie and a swan named Pooh. I agree, I don't know if I'd consider Edward to be Winnie's "real" name, just his previous name. |

#6 NO! Winnie the pooh "lived under the name Mr Sanders" because that name was hanging on his house when he move in!
His name is "Winnie" and he's a "Pooh-Bear"!
The real life toy bear owned by the author's son was origionally named "Edward" but he changed it to Winnie The Pooh after seeing the real-life bear in the zoo.

It should read something closer to "Fictional characters whose real name you didn't know".

I'm only being a grammar nazi as fancy was complaining about some other site "plagiarizing" IAB's link titles. |

After seeing Samuel L. Jackson played "Black Guy" in Sea of Love, it makes sense that even the most trivial characters should have names so the producers can avoid the accusations of racism (or some other -ism) in their desire for simplicity.
No mention of Gilligan's Island? |
