I seriously doubt very many people really study the New Testament, whether they're atheists or Christians or people of other religions. It's such an interesting set of writings filled with incredibly beautiful things. It amazes me "pastors" like this exist. |

I don't know what was worse, the pastor encouraging his congregation to physically abuse their children, or the shouts of agreement from the congregation itself. I feel sorry for each an every one of their children. I know what it's like to be beat by a parent, how it makes you feel, the hurt and the anger, the hopelessness. It poisons your brain, and plants hatred in your heart. This is how they want their kids to grow up? |

In Jesus' time, the Samaritans were much more despised by Jewish society than gay people are in today's society. When Jesus taught people to love your neighbor as yourself, he used the Samaritan as the example of who that neighbor is. I'm not really sure if there is an extreme enough parallel for this from contemporary society. In other words, whatever this asshat "preacher" is trying to preach, it doesn't even come close to basic Christianity. Yeah, I know this is a troll post, trying to ignite a multi-sided flame war (gays and atheists vs christians), and feeding the trolls is never the right move, but, this is so ridiculously lunatic-fringe, well..... |

Ok, I actually listened to it. I don't get any repressed gay vibe from him - he's just an ass. Can you imagine how horrible a gay kid in his audience felt after hearing that? Imagine the horrific lectures on how wrong being gay is. I know this is the extreme but don't tell me religion does not play a part in gay teen suicide. If you have no safe place at school, home or church what is left to live for? |
