Friday, June 01, 2012 10:10:08 AM unless the waiter/waitress was extremely rude, a two cent tip is just being an asshat douchbag |

Thursday, May 03, 2012 8:51:40 PM Gradde; you always leave a tip... If you don't tip, they just think you forgot, put it on the credit card, or were cheap. This one gets the point across that you are not being cheap, there's a reason the waitress got the bad tip.

Thursday, May 03, 2012 10:20:41 AM I thought it was funny, but an actual note is probably over the top. If the service isn't good, it isn't deserving of a tip, imo. |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 2:40:18 PM My god, this guy's grammar is TERRIBLE. On topic: this guy claims the waiter was rude and perhaps he was, nonetheless this was just a snarky attempt at being clever. There are many ways he could've been less douchey about it. |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 12:54:45 PM I dont mind tipping, and will tip extra for above-average service. The amount can go down, too, for poor service/drama/blame it on something else/snotty attitude/you are lucky I am even serving you. The written letter ?? Only if eating there is a one-time thing, and you dont plan to ever set foot in there again.... |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 11:03:30 AM drat a server's sense of entitlement to tips. Seriously. If you do a crappy job, you don't deserve a tip. I tip. I tip VERY well if they earn it. If they suck, I still tip, but it is far below the suggested percentage. I've worked a job that was deemed "tip-able" and I hustled my ass... to EARN the tips. If I gave poor service, and didn't receive a tip, I understood. I've also worked commission sales... where your ENTIRE income is affected by your customer service skills. If you don't feel like SERVING customers well, get another job that isn't based purely on SERVING a customer directly. Christ. |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 9:45:14 AM agreed with mqRed turdburgler: tips are actually a given, unless youre in canada or another country than the U.S. when we get tipped we claim the tips and a portion of our pay check is taken out. so in reality were getting our base wage knocked down from 8 to 6 dollars. if you dont want to tip, the food will be a lot more expensive. you may suck it. |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 8:51:28 AM Tips are not a given. Dont expect them unless service is excellent. even then dont bitch if you don't get one. If the hourly wage is not enuf to get by on, find another job. Simple. |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 7:50:38 AM I don't care much for customary tipping for crummy service. Saying that not leaving a tip is unacceptable (when service was bad), imo, is ridiculous. It's not my fault you were a crummy server and now you have to make up the difference or make less than minimum wage for my table. I also don't own the restaurant, so how am I responsible for your pay? |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 7:45:31 AM Canadian pennies too, now that's a real insult. Like the tip didn't suck badly enough, but CANADIAN pennies on top of it? First chapter in DOUCHEBAGGERY 101. Why are you assuming this restaurant is in America? And besides, our dollar is worth 2 cents more than your puny dollar, but that's just my "2 cents." ;) |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 6:02:17 AM I'm good at my job. I work the floor of a very busy cafe, I have from 12-30 (tables get pulled apart/put together) tables that I have to cater for by myself. I'm overworked and underpaid. I'm not always going to be able to give you the best service. But if you would like to write a note like that, I would give you the oppurtunity to try and handle the stress of my job for 5 minutes and see if you can keep up. |

Wednesday, May 02, 2012 5:33:59 AM carmium-"Anyone who's worked as a server will say "wrong." Anyone who has endured terrible service from someone who expects a tip will say "right." As one who has both served and been served: When I was the server, I realized it way my job to make the patron's experience as pleasant as possible (i.e. no bitching) When I am served, I realize that it is the servers job to my my experience as pleasant as possible (i.e. no bitching). There are several reason why I no long work in the service industry: 1) The pay sucks, so I decided, correctly, I could do better outside the service industry. 2) The 99% of my customers who were happy with my service did not make up for the 1% of douchbags. 3) I don't follow the adage 'The customer is always right', sometimes the customer is an idiot, and I have a tendency to inform them of their idiocy. |
