The link provided by Tacos4Brkfst below was excellent: it makes clear exactly what's going on in this video.
The intermittent shooting geysers of flame are ventings from the relief valve of what was probably a 5-lb propane tank in the back of the truck. If the fire is steady and continues long enough, it is just a matter of time before an explosion occurs because the falling levels of liquid propane in the tank expose more and more of the steel to the full heat of the fire, which weakens the metal. In essence, those flame geysers are a warning that an explosion is imminent.
When the metal of the propane tank finally gave out, it appears that the walls surrounding the bed of the pickup truck contained much of the shrapnel, thank goodness. |

im a welder, ive seen this happen to an oxy-fuel tank, we were all just standing around watching it burn and said to ourselves "na its just guna burn, it'll fizzle out" than BOOM |

I actually live a few miles away from where this happened. Someone had some propane tanks and one was leaking and a spark lit it on fire and did all of that. |

Good god I watched the whole video and I thought "what the HELL was he carrying? Propane?" Looks like I was right. I suspect the giant explosion came from when it finally got to the gas tank. |
