Christians believe that marriage is only for this life because, according to Jesus, there is no marriage in heaven:
Matthew 22:30 "At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." |

I believe he was speaking out of his arse as heaven clearly doesn't exist, but at least the issue is addressed in the scripture. |
