Non-duality sounds so much more exciting with fast loud Muzak and cool graphics. My granddad explained this when I was a wee tot.
I will break it down for ya
We are all one and one for all. Love everyone and everything because it's just an extention of you. Desire is a seed of Progress and progress is inevitable. All that is dark and painful is your interpretation just as all that is good and pleasurable.
Time is eternal and when you look at the long arc of time as we know it everything is a OK.
Enjoy the ride that is your life in the vehicle that is your body and know that you are the universe there is much love for you. Where you come from and where you will dissolve back to.

Uh oh, someone has been reading Daniel Dennet and Susan Blackmore!
All joking aside, there is DEFINITELY problems with the Cartesian Theater model of consciousness, but I'm not able to swallow the Grand Illusion model quite yet; I see it as a pseudo-mix of science and Buddhism.
And Nickel2, I'm pretty sure that Blackmore used that as an example in a discussion once, which the TPV is excellent literature, but it should be left as such; literature, not philosophy. |
