@fancylad: I never said it was a big deal, and I totally agree with you. I have hung around autistic children before, and yes, he's acting like it. All I was doing was trying to answer the question you had about tedgp when you didn't understand him when he said he thought you were "discriminating". You're totally right though. |

@slut_ella: There's a long road from "recognizable" to "good" and it takes time to get there. This kid hasn't made the journey yet. Hopefully he'll stick with it. I started playing piano at his age and it's brought me a lifetime of joy and cash when I need it. |

the kid isn't reading the music and at 6 he might not even read english yet. so how can you say its terrible? my best friend in high school had taken piano for 12 years and when she played Chopsticks you couldn't tell what the tune was. this kid is pretty fab and can only get better. |

The fact you said "autism, right?" can imply discrimination, when the original link clearly states that the child is autistic.
If you didnt want to have this tone to your caption, it would have been better to say "Autistic 6 year old Ethan" |

I think what tedgp meant was, why does the kid have to be autistic to be good at piano? I have a friend that could play without music and he's not autistic at all. He would just teach himself which keys to hit when, and he was better than me, who actually took lessons. |
