That's what happens when breeders put the look of the cat before it's health. Persians are bred to have very short nasal passages because it is a desirable trait at shows, but it causes such problems for the poor cat. I wouldn't support those breeders as they are warping God's creatures to their own ends.
I talk to my cats constantly, and it's a nice way to relax and complain about the housework without annoying my spouse. They just sit their and don't pass judgement back. And they are so cute when they meow in reply :) |

I say bless you to my cat too :P Also when I know he's having a nightmare (he whines and his face twitches) I say his name really loudly and happily to wake him from his dream. I learned the hard way that it's not a good idea to pet a cat to wake them from their nightmare ,_, |

I consider myself somewhat of an expert in these matters, having received my Doctorate in Gay Studies while studying in the backs of dimly lit bars, gymnasium steam rooms and various darkened theatres {I had to get a pell grant just to cover the cost of knee-pads}, and I can state CATegorically that we do not talk to our cats like that.
