I use the clear ones at my parties. When you have 200 to 300 people in your house you can't use glass. Plus people put their drink down and loose it. Party cups are the only way to go. They make for easy clean up and are recyclable. |

I am soo bad for that. I'm hyper-conscious about keeping my drink with me in clubs and bars, but when we're having a party at home or our buddies place, I lose my drink ALL the time.
OldOllie, they now have red cups you can buy with a little panel you peel off and underneath is a black...something or other and you can scratch your name into the cup!
Red solo cup!...I fill you up! Let's have a parttyy!!! |

And we also have plastic glasses for large parties.... I'm surprised you've never seen any, they sell them in most supermarkets. |

Because the entire purpose of an American college fraternity party is to get, as you Brits would put it, piss drunk, and people in that condition tend to break a lot of glasses.
They also tend to put their half-full drinks down, forget where they put them, and then they go get another. That's why when I used to throw parties, I would hand out the plastic cups and make people write their names on them with a Sharpie. It saved about 1/3 of the beer. |
