Sunday, April 22, 2012 5:43:28 AM This is perfect, no drag net killing whole bunch of species. Target fishing, looks like employes a lot more people too & sounds sustainable. Those draters are big one yellow/ blue fin will take care of one seating of big sushi restaurant. Cool cool cool |

Saturday, April 21, 2012 1:42:13 PM That was beautiful. And if you are stuck with manual labour in a third world country, that's the job to go for. |

Saturday, April 21, 2012 1:41:42 PM vv good point @Buiadh, by-catch is BAD! Lots of fish & other creatures get killed by nets for no reason. Now I'm hungry... |

Saturday, April 21, 2012 12:38:30 PM @skytz1337 - I think you're missing the point, you get no bycatch with rod+line wishing. Should some other sea creature be hooked up, if they're not fishing for it, it gets put back in the water. Also this form of fishing is sustainable. Whereas net-based fishing is scouring oceans of life. |

Saturday, April 21, 2012 12:12:02 PM Is this from BBC's Pacific? Quite old if it is. But I thought that was an Attenborough doc? Edit: I see it seems to be a new doc. "South Pacific". On topic: All tuna I buy is rod+line. More expensive, but happy to pay extra. |
