Friday, April 20, 2012 11:14:17 AM The government won't fund NASA but, you watch, the minute an entrepeneur finds lil green men they wil be all over it like a rash. |

Friday, April 20, 2012 7:30:06 AM Collectives do not have purposes, individuals do. What a load of tripe. And there's no business on this planet that has the expendable capital to build a spaceflight infrastructure. Even *IF* a business could get all of NASA or some other country like Russia's information on equipment, logistics and such, they would go broke merely attempting to get one long-term spacecraft launched and viable. |

Friday, April 20, 2012 7:28:21 AM Wow. I think we're all agreed that she and her script were both horrid. Agreed. I can only hope this Age of the Nonsensical Simile we seem to be in wanes in the very near future. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 8:33:39 PM @Xh8FYHnG: I disagree. MASSIVE undertakings usually need government support to succeed, with examples being the creation of the interstate highway system and most high-speed rail systems in Europe. At some point, space exploration will fall over to free enterprise, and rightly so, but I don't think we're anywhere *near* that point yet. Unfortunately, I think there's a good chance that the first settlement on Mars will be Chinese, and not American. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 6:48:08 PM She has a very annoying voice and is probably trying too hard because she's a newbie--but she speaks the truth. The government has no business running a space program in the first place, except for defense purposes. Collectives do not have purposes, individuals do. With economic incentives, progress will happen in this new frontier as it has in others. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 6:47:25 PM When did Reason.tv become MTV? Can't we handle serious topics without making it "hip?" |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 2:24:23 PM I'm sorry honey but nobody's going to Mars "in style" anytime soon. I found that highly disrespectful to the millions of people who toiled to create the technology that allowed man to explore space not to mention those who gave their lives in the cause. |
