Friday, April 20, 2012 10:20:02 AM UT Arlington puts out a bulletin every time a crime is reported. And making physical contact with someone against their wishes is assault. |

Friday, April 20, 2012 9:44:01 AM I too am puzzled as to why this is posted here. It's a legitimate crime, but not particularly noteworthy. I'm worried that it may have been posted in some misguided attempt to portray the victim as overreacting. |

Friday, April 20, 2012 6:34:47 AM Sounds EXACTLY like something that was going on two years ago at Auburn. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 9:44:51 PM everything in this country is punishable by jail time. yes, even what you do when no one is around...it's self-sexual assault and you should turn yourself in. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 4:39:56 PM Want to know where the most rapes(In the U.S.) occur? Want to know where the most rapes are covered up? Or not investigated? Or the perpetrator protected from prosecution? Colleges and universities. Same for most male on female assaults, as well as stalking. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 4:23:28 PM @Angillion I should've said "Because apparently sexual harassment = assault". But I do agree with your comment nonetheless. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 4:00:53 PM Because sexual harassment = assault. No, assault = assault. Physical contact, so it can be assault. It's a very broad term. Probably too broad, since it covers very different things. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 2:17:55 PM Something very similar to this happened at my campus and it BLEW UP!!! Ours was better because our assailant was riding a vintage blue bicycle with cruiser bars and he got two back to back, pun intended. If you google search "Ball state ass slapper" you will see several news articles also there's a facebook group and two really good songs that were made about the event. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 1:35:08 PM "the Campus is legally obligated to pursue cases of sexual assault." You would get more sexual assault standing in a crowded bus. That's the problem with the fact that kids grow up without learning to stand up for themselves. The end up to be teenagers that feel 'assaulted' every time someone looks at them the wrong way. And to top it all off, the police can't say the 'victim' needs to grow a pair, because THAT's also considered assault. I'm standing on the outside, seeing my world being f*cked up by little whiny pricks and i can't figure out how to get rid of the little pests. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 1:13:16 PM "This was just inappropriate, not worth the attention of campus." the Campus is legally obligated to pursue cases of sexual assault. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 11:53:39 AM The UT PD are required by law to put out bulletins on any crimes that happen on campus. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 11:42:44 AM If spitting on someone is considered assault, then yes, slapping them anywhere or touching them inappropriately is assault. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 11:41:49 AM maybe the perpetrators would get caught. It certainly isn't worth jail time though. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 11:39:50 AM When the sexual harassment involves physical contact, then yes, it is assault. Well I won't argue there. But I'd like to say this is one of those things that aren't worth the PD putting a bulletin out. There is a fine line between violent and inappropriate behavior. This was just inappropriate, not worth the attention of campus. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 11:33:46 AM Why is this posted here? It is a legitimate crime. But not unheard of, this sort of thing happens all the time and if only more women had the courage to report it, maybe the perpetrators would get caught. |
