Friday, April 20, 2012 8:52:44 AM How about this scenario.... They are a genuinely happy couple with a lot in common and a bright future together and screw all the cynical, superficial jerks who automatically assume otherwise based on their own shallow snap judgments and prejudices. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 9:52:15 PM Meh girl is prolly just a nerd who can be a knock out when she wants to. My wife is like this. When she dresses it up I am so outmatched. |

Thursday, April 19, 2012 3:21:35 AM MrsPoods Pfft, the tartan in her corsage doesn't match her date's. Prom FAIL! He's probably wearing his clan tartan and she her clans tartan on her corsage (if it is tartan, it could just be a colourful ribbon?). Their tartans wouldn't match if they're not from the same clan. |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 1:02:20 PM Am I missing something? This is usual formal attire for a someone from Scotland. Often worn to weddings etc. You need to educate yourself... |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 11:14:19 AM Or he is crazy wealthy? Then again there is the possibility that he is a genuinely good person, and that girl doesn't value a person based on purely superficial reasons... |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 10:27:43 AM As far as the kilt...nothing wrong with it at all, I've worn my tartan to weddings, funerals, and many other social functions. Nothing wrong with a man in a kilt at all. Unless you're not actually Scottish, because then it's technically cross-dressing. |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 10:25:10 AM Yeah, I'd bet the school would frown on wearing the skean dhu. As far as the kilt...nothing wrong with it at all, I've worn my tartan to weddings, funerals, and many other social functions. |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 10:19:02 AM @MacGuffin. I'd expect better from a fellow Scot. It's "sgian dubh", unless you're a stinky sassenach. Americans will have a hard enough time pronouncing the Anglicised version. If I'd used the Gaelic spelling, I'd have only been inadvertently spreading ignorance. Yanks reading that spelling will think it's pronounced the same way as it sounds when you sneeze violently. |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 10:15:31 AM Either that, or do what my cousin did and use a spoon instead. You get wee ones that are just plastic handles too. |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 9:58:12 AM "No skean dhu - tsk! I bet he's wearing underpants too." If it's a school activity, then having anything with a blade is generally not a good idea. He could easily be wearing it for this picture though, and just take it off before arriving. Either that, or do what my cousin did and use a spoon instead. |
