Friday, April 20, 2012 5:38:40 AM Um...he's complaining about wanting the "notes" and the "material" and to "pass this class" and "Get an education"...and says it's his ART TEACHER??? It's ART! What NOTES do you take in ART Class??? What is there to be serious about in ART CLASS? There is no "Material!" You just sit there and DRAW while the teacher either yaps or reads a book! |

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 6:55:12 AM Actually, he has a good point. My professor used to do the something similar. No matter what I said in class even when it was purposely way off point, she would say stuff like "that's an interesting way to look at it" or "that has some merit too". I finally called her out on it and, in private, said to her "Listen, don't agree with everything everyone says here. This isn't an "opinion" course. You're not helping us learn the material by doing that. You're confusing us all. Our tuition pays your salary so earn it. Take us in one direction only. We'll all be better for it". She took it to heart and did much better afterwards. |

Tuesday, April 17, 2012 6:06:33 PM I wouldn't call him an idiot at all. As much as college costs, he has a legitimate complaint if he doesn't feel that she's spending enough time lecturing. It's no different than if he were paying someone to give him guitar lessons or even golf lessons. The simple fact is, if you are paying a person or an organization to educate you and they are instead concentrating on telling jokes and personal stories rather than the subject at hand, there is a legitimate complaint. |

Tuesday, April 17, 2012 12:38:12 PM I totally agree with him and I would write her back and let her know that NO, I will not becoming to her office, I will be going to the DEAN and CHAIR of the dept. to let them know about my issue. I had the same prob with a few of my professors and as it turns out going to their boss seems to get it fixed right away. When I spend thousands of dollars on something I expect to get what I paid for, not someone's weekend stories or tale's about how cute their cat is... |
