Hospitals are made by the faithful and dedicated in the name of the saints, schools are too. More hospitals and schools have been made by the faithful than churches. This was done through hard work, close community, AND prayer. Some very great achievements have been found in those hospitals and schools, including by people of faith through hard work and prayer. These achievements have helped many countless of thousands.
The faithful work to help all people understand the importance of loving one another, and caring for one another, and respecting one another. After all, God created us all, and urges us to love one another as He loves us, so we should respect one another as siblings.
Creating a division will only work against us all. What is important is that we love one another. Meaning if someone finds out that loving one another works best and strives to do this no matter what, who can fault them? |

@EgalM: There are two sides to every story, but the way you wrote what you did seems rather smug and self-congratulatory.
Atheists (of the non-militant kind) do not believe or have faith that others will follow suit. For the most part, atheists are a live and let live bunch. If you want to believe in your god, go right ahead- just don't shove it down my throat.
"...you have faith that you have been told the truth, cause people lie," and we all know that no Christian has ever lied. The difference as we see it is that science can be reproduced by anyone (peer review), rather than religion which relies on belief in non-reproducable ancient stories. You say atheism has no problem with liars? How about the Church denying any number of scientific truths and corruption within its ranks?

"Our principals are not a faith", yes they are, because you have faith others will follow suit, also you have faith that you have been told the truth, cause people lie, plain and simple.
I could go on, but I hope you catch my drift, there is two sides to every story, and when your belief system has no problem with liars, how can you trust them. |

Unfortunately, O'Hair has a point, about most Christians who don't get what it's all about. Christianity is about helping your fellow man. My pastor believes in all three of her statements, and has acted on them, unfortunately, that is rare, as is the fact that she is a woman. The church is Zion life in Plano, TX. Karen Spano, Pastor, was given 100k by a wealthy family who she did not name. Instead of using it to start building a church (small congregation in a leased office building), she used it to build a hospital on the islands off of Uganda on Lake Victoria. She also not only prays for the poor of Uganda, but has started Weeps which takes 100% of donations and gives them as gifts, not loans, for Widows to start businesses, 87% success rate. My church also does not believe in the Rapture, only the in body return of Christ at some point in the not-near future. Escape into death is the last thing on our minds as we have a mission to carry out here on earth. |

All of you who say I-A-B is some all-out pro atheist site obviously don't stroll around the internet too much. The vast majority of the internet is like this. Hilariously enough, a ton of you think that I-A-B is this unique boogyman that has it out for religion.
Also, stop acting like such victims. I PROMISE you, while you may be the minority online (poor you!), you have almost all the power in (American) society. The reason atheists, the non-religious, and every other group that doesn't fit into "fundamental Christian" have been increasingly volatile is bullsh*t like banning gay marriage and using school to indoctrinate religion.
There is no reasoning with this sh*t. I cannot be the kind, fair atheist any more. Your religion has made my life suck, along with billions of others. I never signed up for your backwards system, and I shouldn't have to suffer because of it.

Look at that "Zimmerman got charged" post, it's completely irrelevant for anyone outside of the US (or even outside of Florida), yet it's got about 400 posts. You don't have to participate, and even if you had an interesting point of view, threads like that get really retarded after a while.

Contradicting science is outrageous? Science contradicts itself all the damn time. There would be no science if it was treated like dogma, it would just be another type of faith. That's really the biggest difference between believing in science or religion: science is based on a changing set of rules. Religion is completely inadaptable because there is no requirement for any kind of proof. That's why there's like 200 kinds of Christianity, which is of course an offshoot of other religions itself. You can make up an infinite number of faiths but there is only one science. |
