Thursday, December 16, 2004 4:01:08 AM Too bad this sort of thing is impossible. If it was, "for too many, too trivial, largely untrue, shallow, etc. etc." how could they "choose" to continue to go on with it? People aren't stupid, you know. The newspapers will keep their jobs. The poor people who don't have internet would have been left out, and the people with internet don't go out enough to bring much news in. People will have their doubts on news and all, so Epic won't be that successful. Calm down, peoples! It probably won't even work as a book. If you want a good story about your dystopia, read 1984. Thirty years in the past, not ten in the future. |

Tuesday, December 14, 2004 9:52:32 PM That's amazing. And I agree with ShaggyR - eventually they'll say how convenient, how identity-theft proof, a small chip would be...put your paycheck in, draw your money out... no more black market, no more evading taxes... straight out of "The Net". Scary is not even a strong enough word. |

Tuesday, December 14, 2004 7:07:23 PM This wasn't all that scary. If they had focused on other things...such as the elimination of cash money...I would have been scared. You see, the great thing about cash is that you remain completely anonymous when you use it. Once cash money is completely replaced by a plastic debit card and online purchasing EVERYTHING YOU DO will be monitored and recorded. There is no way around it once the cash is gone. Add to that all of the video cameras that are mounted everywhere...multiply that by a thousand to get how many cameras will be watching you 10 years from now...and things start getting really scary. |

Tuesday, December 14, 2004 7:04:12 PM Reuters - 21 minutes ago Google Inc. said on Tuesday it would digitize some of the world's most important libraries in a bold effort that could profit the company by attracting more viewers to its site -- and its ads. Google to put books from great libraries on internet Independent Google to put millions of library books online . I thought this was an intresting thing that had some relation to thie video clip. Guess where I found it , ON google news ( Reuters 21 minutes ago) eeep |

Tuesday, December 14, 2004 6:59:40 PM This person should REALLY consider writing books because that is a scary thought. That is sending shivers up my spine. I'm curious about the digital paper part , if it actually is made yet becuase I did hear about it on tv. but yeah that clip would make for a good book. Its hard to actually decide if what is proposed is really a good thing or a bad thing. I hope this doesnt lead to anything . |

Tuesday, December 14, 2004 3:29:22 PM Odd, cool, scarry.......I can't decide. I can't believe it's a freaking advert. It was really good. I like how they turned it around at the end. It's scarry to think that "this" is a possibility. This is what we are being drivin towards now. Sadly even if this did come to pass for the most part people would not utilize it to better themselves or others, so I think. REALLY good link Buddy. |
