So, conflicted.
Obviously the kid is *not* gonna be upset by this, the problem is he won't understand why he's going to prison when he bangs a sixteen year old girl.
That's sorts how molestation works. It crosses up the wiring and makes you think unacceptable behavior is okay. |

I believe the "lucky boy" prevailing societal attitude that goes along with the situation where the predator is a female and the victim is male, alongside the revulsion that the same society exhibits when the genders are reversed, is a big part of the reason why the gay woman I mentioned is now serving a very, very severe sentence for her first and only offence against a very willing victim that no doubt felt just as 'lucky' to be the object of her affections as the victim in this case did. I don't think anyone should be facing 10 years for this type of low-level offence, regardless of the genders of those involved. |

*My* opinion is that I don't think there should be a material distinction made in law, whether the victim is a boy or a girl. Sure, the physical consequences for a girl are sometimes more serious and long-lasting, but really, unless the relationship is actually 'non-consensual' on the part of the victim, I don't see any material difference whether the victim is male or female: it's still at the lower end of 'wrong' on the legal scale.

The law is what it is and correctly so, but if my son came home and said he bumped uglies with an NFL cheerleader, we would sit down and have a heart to heart. Later I would brag about it to my friends. If my daughter spoke of a similar encounter, like any normal American dad, there would be a struggle to contain the rage and do the right thing. |

He wasn't over the age of consent for the context, which is 18. |

It is differant for a boy than a girl. Yes it's a double standard, but not sexist. Boys are differant from Girls. They react to things differantly, their emotional makeups are differant.
The teachier's an idiot, but I still don't see a victim anywhere.
Ignoring your atrocious spelling, I was wondering, given your views as expressed above, and given the fact you're gay, how you therefore feel about the case of otherwise-upstanding PE teacher Jennifer Lea Burton. She was agreed to be an upstanding pillar of her community, who'd never been in trouble before. She's presently serving a ten year stretch in a hell-hole of a prison in Marlin, Texas where there's not even clean water for the inmates to drink or flush toilets with in 100+ degree summer heat. Her crime? – aged 39, she slept with a 15-year-old pupil......who happened to be a girl. Is her crime materially different to this case, and did she deserve that serious a sentence, do you think?
