Ringo isn't the greatest, but he definitely was important for the Beatles to be the Beatles. Ringo was irreplaceable and still a better front man in his prime, while being with the beatles, than 85% of musicians today. Don't forget that bands are only as good as the drummer can let them be. |

I love listening to The Beatles. I have ever since I was a little kid. Ringo has always and always will be my favorite Beatle. He's underrated. :) I <3 Ringo! |

Not true. Pete Best was fired because he was too good looking. He stole all the girls from John and Paul. Ringo wasn't a better or worse drummer, but he was uglier than John and Paul. |

That's not really true at all. By most accounts, Best wasn't a great drummer, and the fact that he was limiting the rest of the band was one of the reasons he was canned. Ringo, on the other hand, already had a reputation as the best drummer in Liverpool before joining the Beatles, which is one of the reasons they asked him to join in the first place. The general consensus is that, between the two of them, Ringo was definitely the better drummer. |

Pete Best was fired because he was a very talented drummer. So much so, people were starting to refer to them as "Pete Best and the Beatles". John & Paul's egos couldn't take that, so he had to go. They brought in Ringo because he was a "character", and wouldn't threaten them for leadership of the band. |

Granted, he's definitely not the most talented drummer in the world, but a horrible person? I've never heard any reports/rumors to back that up. Obviously, I don't know the man, so it's hard for me to say. Although, I could see why he might be a bitter person, since he was the weak link in an incredible band. |
