buh..O.N.U. just doin' what they do...talk,and meet and agree and sign papers that,in reality does NOT transform,magically,over night,in act of charity towards the children abused all over the world..all the souls,and all the saddened eyes of children,with the light gone,will not ask "why O.N.U. didn't saved me"....just "why?!" |

I'm going to copy/paste this argument EVERY TIME I see someone who got butthurt about IC taking some of the money for themselves...
i still dont see why people are so surprised that IC kept most of the money...they have to pay for everything they do. their employees, those posters, their seminars, their over seas trips. everything.
they are doing what they said they were going to do. make Kony "famous". If anything they might even give MORE than most other charities... |

I don't post much, but the knowledge that any media attention that KONY receives will cause the death and suffering of tens of thousands of innocents struck a nerve with me. This is all about oil and the Christian Right has shown their card as being chess pieces of repressive international oil industries. |

"no achievable political purpose"? In a Kony interview, he said that his army's purpose is to have free elections without corruption. And that the kids being mutilated are from the government's army as a smear campaign against him. How crazy would it be if that was the actual truth and we are all being played? |

itself is a much more significant thing than the validity of the Kony movement... and I wonder if governments are threatened by the fact that more and more "ordinary" people can come together and bring about movements... this is possible with the internet.

This whole movement has many parts. Some are indisputable fact, some points are being questioned, perhaps rightly.
FACT:
People, innocent civilians and children have been tortured, raped, killed, and forced to fight.
People watched the Kony 2012 video by the millions and many, many people wanted to come together and help these people.
One of the leaders of this movement had some sort of breakdown in public.
Non-Fact - Still in dispute:
What this movement is about, its motives.
Put aside for a moment the "Kony" movement and look at the first two facts. There have been, and, according to news sources are still people being terrorized by this man.
The thing greater than the Kony movement itself is the fact that millions of people, complete strangers from the opposite sides of the world, wanted to step in and help. That, in and of itse |

If you are considering donating to Invisible Children, do yourself a favor. Take $100, flush $68 down the toilet, which is what IC skims off the top, and then take the remaining $32 and donate it to a legitimate charity. |

@imnakdjumpme I'm not against going into the jungle and kicking Kony's a s s, but I am against giving money to an organization that is in bed with another organization that, according to Ugandan legislator David Bahati is the "inspiration" for the 'kill the gays' legislation. Antagonizer, i only see that they accepted donations from christian organizations, but not that they support an anti-gay agenda. One of the organizers is gay and they have spoken out against the abuse of LGBT in Uganda.
IT is not a right or left issue, so i could see people from both sides getting involved.

FYI Invisible Children is a christian organization linked to another group called 'The Fellowship' or 'The Family' that have been pushing Ugandan officials to create a "kill the gays" bill where being homosexual gets you the death penalty. Decide for yourself if you want to follow them... |

Why would it be bad to try and capture this guy? No matter how long ago he did these terrible things, he should be held accountable. Pol Pot didnt even get tried until after he died. Dont you think the victim deserve more? Dont you think the world should come together to show the victims we do care? If everyone stood up and took action towards getting Kony, it would show that this method is effective and we can go after even worse people. |
