slue-etta, I work in a group home that takes care of people with mental disabilities and I don't find this offensive at all. The people I work with are still people and sometimes they do funny/weird/strange things and people want to tell others about it and we can't. Our consumers are protected by the HIPAA act which means we cannot tell anyone about anyone's diagnoses unless there is no way for anyone to know who we are talking about. For example I can tell you that I work with a guy who was CP and I can tell you that because you do not know me or the people I work with. What I am trying to get across is that unlike everyone else we can't talk about our work and this is how this person chose to do that.
