Stop making excuses for your social awkwardness. Don't expect anyone to accommodate you; no one cares.

Introverts are so difficult to care for there are 12 points in their list of ten steps.

Most of this stuff has nothing to do with introversion. Getting embarrassed easily in public? Need to be "taught new skills in private?" Sounds like social anxiety. You can be introverted without being terrified of being in public.
Don't interrupt them and give them advanced notice of changes? Sounds more like aspergurs, where routine is a necessity because they can't handle basic changes.
I'm introverted as hell but none of that stuff describes me.

Pat & Irish: Yes I know some people are naturally introverted, but many others are not.

There are a lot of people in the middle as well.
I just feel it's important to socially acclimatize kids and get them outside, playing, and making friendships.

A lot of people don't understand what Introversion means. FoSchizle has the best definition. It is not a sign of a problem, or an illness it is a normal personality type that 50% of people throughout history have always had. If your thinking of people that display anti-social behavior that has nothing to do with extroversion.

Guess you have to be one to understand, I'd be so much happier if I could get my wife to understand all of these things about myself. Except 10 n 11, those don't really apply to her.

Yeah, I'm very introverted. I guess the misconception is it means I'm a pasty loser who's afraid of sunlight and loud noises.

All it really means is that I spend a lot of time thinking internally. I may seem shy, but that's me gauging a room, determining what will be ok to say and do in a particular scenario. I spend a lot of time going on walks just to consider surroundings.

Just because we don't all act like rash fratboys doesn't make us boring or closed off, Crakr. We just think in a different way.

Yeah. We're not pets.

And Crackr: You can be an introvert and spend lots of time outside. I have the mountains as a backyard and do a lot of solitary walking and thinking.

Buiadh: Not a troll a truth. Today's youth are turning into socially inept uneducated mushrooms.

Wowummwow: Books are good, at least they engage people's imaginations, but you still need to get outside.

@Crakr

Then we'd just pick up those things made of many pieces of paper with words printed on them.

Well that's all fine and dandy, but if that's all it meant to be introverted I can't imagine why anybody would ever compile such a list as this. There's a sense of entitlement required to make such requests that I don't feel inclined to indulge.

Jake:

You can be introverted and still be socially normal. For instance, I'm a pretty big introvert, but I work as an RA which requires interaction and social skills. Introvertedness doesn't mean socially inept, it just means you don't get energy/refreshed from going out and doing stuff with other people, you need time to yourself to relax

I'm special and I expect the world to treat me as such. - Sounds reasonable.

Treat your kids like this and they'll be maladjusted and angry with the world.
