Gerry1of1, I'm curious how you arrive at those percentages. Muslims who have committed some kind of terrorist act number, perhaps, in the thousands, out of total population of 1.5 billion... so in your mind about 0.01% render the 99% untrustworthy.
Would you be willing for others to have this kind of collective judgment of homosexuals? |

5Cats I don't think anyone is questioning whether intelligence agencies infiltrate groups... (as swoop408 noted) offering 250k cash, a car, and a vacation is likely to entice some idiot in any group. so, what exactly is the point of that kind of operation? they should arrest the person planning an attack on their own accord. |

Who cares. Muslims have proven time and time again that they can't be trusted. I'd rather have the ones susceptible to actually blowing up a kindergarten entrapped and put in prison for life, rather than not finding them until after the bus full of children has been blown up.

I don't know. Considering all the hate coming out of the ME, maybe this was justified. I haven't looked into this enough to see if anyone's rights were violated, and frankly I don't care enough to check.
Remember that case where a muslim attacked an atheist and was released without anything by a muslim judge? A clear violation of the rules. I have run out of sympathy.
Since when does moving to the USA mean you stop being a zealous nut? |

For a more entertaining account, try the movie "Charlie Wilson's War" starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. It's an accurate account, but not very detailed. I don't agree with some of their tactics. Offering over 250k, a car and a holiday to drat poo up? I think you'd find people of all race/religion that would do some shady stuff for that kind of reward.
If you're going to catch people, catch the ones who are PLANNING an attack. Don't proposition retards with riches beyond their imagination. Feels like entrapment. Weird. |

This may be a shock to some, but really, it's their job!
The FBI, CIA, CSIS, RCMP &etc have been doing it... forever!
It's their job to 'gather intelligence' which includes infiltrating every group in existance to see 'what they're up to'. |

When Bin Laden was 'fighting' the Soviets as part of the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan during the 80's, back when the Mujahedeen (who later became the Taliban) were considered to be 'freedom fighters' by the West, the CIA directly funded the Mujahedeen through money channelled via Pakistan's ISI. Bin Laden, being part of the Mujahedeen, was therefore funded by the CIA.
I wonder if 911 would never have happened had Bin Laden not been given that financial support a decade before? |

So? Spies have often slept with people for information. As for being turned in, so he was a bad spy they saw right through, so what.
As for spying on a religious place, would any of you have a problem if the FBI sent an agent undercover with the Irish Republican Army even if they planned a bombing from the basement of a church?

Remind me again, is there a single main target on the FBI Most Wanted Muslim list that wasn't once on the payroll of the CIA? [Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were both aided financially by the CIA during their rise to prominence, for example].
Maybe the FBI budget would be better spent entrapping those naive CIA officers that repeatedly set America up for Blowback when the thugs they aid in their rise to power eventually turn against them? |
