Oh, and let's not forget the newest craze: Inflicting the rest of their social networking friends lists with up-to-the-second updates on the cutest thing their little pukepod has done JUST NOW...OMG! The baby just spit up! OMG, the baby just burped/farted/dirtied a diaper! Ugh. And, they have to post poor-quality cellphone pix of EACH. EVENT. As if there has never, ever been another baby born on the planet before their kid was spawned.

I'm a Mom. My 3 sons are now young adults. But come on...I really don't need to see my FaceSpace wall plastered with 147 new snapshots of someone else's rugrat every day when I log in. And it's not just one or two people doing this...it's every single New Parent now. WHY?!?

Not to mention, how's this going to impact JR's life when they're old enough to realize their bare bottom has been plastered all over the internet since Day One, along with every bath, breast-feeding session and diaper change they ever got until they turned 1 year o

I see rants like this on the internet all the time, but I have yet to meet a parent who actually behaves this way. Maybe I just hang out with really cool parents, but I kinda get the feeling that these people don't exist and child haters just want something to yell about.

Foamy's point: A lot of parents, particularly new ones, seem to lose the ability to take a joke and get predictably self-righteous about the new meaning children have given their lives.

Several commenters in this thread: This video isn't funny and my child has given my life more meaning than your squirrel-drawing life will ever have.

Do I need to connect the dots here, people?

Foamy is deliberately over-the-top. He goes on hyperactive, overcaffeinated, misanthropic rants by design. Much of the fun is watching him get all worked up and in a tizzy. So relax. Virtually everyone understands that children are great (even, I'm sure, Foamy's creator).

Being a parent is awesome. This rant was written by someone who hates seeing other people have meaningful lives.

It can be hard to see a friend turn into a different person overnight, but having a kid often does that to people. One's whole perspective on what's important changes - sometimes against your plans and will! But the intense part is a phase; once children start school, more time is freed up for those friends and hobbies that gathered dust for years, although it will never be quite the same. Have a little patience.

usually if you ask anyone who has children, how's it going in general, you get the lowdown on how their children are doing. If I cared what your kid was doing I would ask?

Oh, and sorry if you ask about how my kid is and I actually tell you how they are. If you didn't want an answer, don't ask the question. And your pooty comment about "my internet was down yesterday for an hour so I wasn't able to update my facebook status" will always be trumped by "my daughter took a man-sized dump on me when I was changing her diaper"

What happens to parents individuality? Why do parents seem like empty shells? When you have baby you get a lot less sleep, and the sleep you do get is crappy and interrupted. Sitting and watching TV or a movie is 2 minute intervals with 1 minute of chasing after the little guy in between. I haven't changed my language, and I still go out, but what I really look forward to is a beer and a nap.

Not the worst thing about parents by a long shot.
Remember your opinion on any given matter is immaterial if you haven't produced a sprog
