Most very likely an atmospheric phenomena, much like ball lightning.
More over, our electromagnetic sphere has been going through some evolutionary changes lately, along with the sun entering into its solar summer (so to speak), reaching a peak of activity...we're bound to see more interesting auroral phenomena. |

In all honesty, probably isn't a portal, but i'm not going to say that it is or is not because my only understanding of portals comes from portal 1 and 2. |
