Impressive, but I'm not conviced about bumping up small kerbs etc. Still, a step in the right direction.

"worthless from the waist down. eating my food and breathing my air. should commit suicide."

I absolutely agree. You should definitely commit suicide. With thoughts like you felt inclined to share with us, you are worthless from the head down.

@ CrakrJak

Again, assuming you know anything about me. Oh, the arrogance.

Yeah, but would it be allowed in a drive-thru? At first it seemed to me like a combination wheelchair/cherry-picker, but after I saw it work I thought it was a good idea.

Aye, seems nice.
Its like a normal wheelchair, except your arms dont get any exercise, you are screwed if the battery is dead, and it takes forever to get in or out of.
But on the plus side, you can stand! Wohoo!

Tacos4Brkfst: Generally if you can prove the need and the ability to save health care costs, that is fewer trips to the hospital, insurance will pay for devices like these.

bridog: If you were a paraplegic, you wouldn't have typed the word 'will' as you did. You'd have used the word 'we'll' and there would've been other 'first-person' grammar clues as well.

Your try to guilt trip someone who likely has a family member in a wheelchair or is in one themselves, was a big fail there man.

It does seem easy to tip over... I think i'd want to install some retractable outriggers or something,

That is, assuming insurance would help pay for it in the first place.

@jamie76

You really shouldn't assume you know anything about what I know, because you don't. For all you know, I myself am a paraplegic.

jamie: I agree. Going to dread the day that I need a wheelchair full-time. Hopefully there will be affordable exoskeleton devices by then, wish they had them now.

It could be because I am so tired but I cried through this whole thing. Well, until I got bored and turned it off.

I'm still holding out for robotic legs before I damage my spinal cord, but this is still a lot better than wheelchairs.

The only downside is that if you run out of batteries, you're screwed.

it is a HUGE improvement for people that have to live there life at waist height. you have no idea what impact that has on a persons mental health.

you really shouldn't comment on things you have absoultely no idea about, at all.

you have no idea how hard life is when you are stuck sitting down and the world is designed for people standing. you also have no idea how hard it is too feel equal to others when all you see is their crotches.

As with all technologies, I believe this will vastly improve over time if it is taken up and popularized. I support it all the way!

So, instead of wheelchairs, paraplegics will basically have segways? I guess that's cool, but it's not a mind-blowing improvement.
