I don't really know what I'm talking about, but I'm guessing the family filter on IAB allows it to remain family friendly. I for one, as someone with moral values, sometimes wish this website were 18+. Some things we see, and and some of the things we read in comments on IAB do not belong to the eyes of -17 year olds. Just my humble opinion. I would like to know if others of you nice people who comment often here agree. |

i live in england and use the v-sign. also anyone who thinks the middle finger has anything to do with the battle of agincourt must be extremely ignorant, the myth is about the english v-sign not the middle finger. this info-graphic is extremely poor. |

@casidhe - really? Maybe more of a c.o.c.k.ney / Londoner thing then? I am English born and bred and still live here, and have found the middle finger to be much more frequently used as well as much ruder than the 'V' (can't even remember the last time I saw some use the 'V'), but don't live in London so it could be a regional thing. |

I haven't seen a serious two fingered salute in England for about thirty years, we use the middle finger to mean exactly what it means. In fact the two fingered salute is usually used in jest and is generally acceptable on TV as a joke, as shown by comedies such as The Young Ones/Bottom, whereas the middle finger is always blurred out. So this infographic is somewhat out of date. By miles *yawn* |

The BBC classified Wanker as one of the 5 worst offensive words? I always thought it was funny. I mean, take any movie and replace a swear with wanker. "Yippy Kay Yay, You wanker." "I've had it with these wanking snakes on this sodding plane" etc... |

Yeah, I'll never understand this website. They can show pictures of people crapping themselves, people wearing shirts with the "N-word" on it, show info-grapics on the history of the word phuck, but HEAVEN FORBID you put one of those words in your comment. Seems a bit hypocritical to me. But, this site has been going down the crapper anyway. |
