When are people going to wake up and realize that the Republican and Democratic parties are no different any more? They'll fling crap at each other in the public eye, but behind closed doors they are laughing their asses off at us for falling for it. They're like two opposing lawyers in court...during the trail, they'll tear the crap out of each other, but when it's over they'll shake hands and say "See you next time!". |

intrigid: You're correct the oil companies don't get tax breaks for petroleum. They do however get subsidies for producing ethanol, bio-diesel, wind farms, solar energy and such.
When people say they want an end to subsidizing oil companies, those 'clean energy' and 'clean air' funds are the ones that would be ended.
So liberals, please make up your mind, do you want clean energy, clean air, etc, or do you want to keep deceptively villianizing the oil companies ? |

It's something the left utterly FAILS to understand: there is no such thing as a 'corporation tax'! It is always, 100% passed on to the consumers! That's regular folks, the very "poor" the left claims to champion, and hurt by the higher taxes the left keeps demanding.

Oil companies don't get any tax breaks. They pay huge amounts of taxes. Maybe you think they should pay higher taxes, which is an opinion you're entitled to, but saying that they get huge tax breaks is simply ridiculous.
Why is it that people love of complain about oil companies taxes not being high enough, but NOBODY complains about General Electric, which paid NO TAXES in 2011? They avoided paying 11 BILLION dollars in taxes by hiring thousands of people to find and exploit loopholes in the tax system. Their tax return was 57,000 pages long. Tell me how any of that is reasonable. |

Stop whining USA, gas prices has to go up.. Everyday there's gonna be less of it around. It's effing 8€ for a gallon here and nobody's complaining about it. Get better mileage or invest in public transport. |

He's right though, people need to switch to more sustainable options when buying cars. The increase in taxation on petrol is forcing north Americans to reconsider their choice in vehicles. Would you rather pay less for gas now, and cause ruin later? This route forces people to come to terms with changes that they will have to make, and it does it pretty slowly. You've had about 5 years of increasing gas prices to reconsider your choice of transportation. America has relatively low gas prices, here with the dollar conversion and the conversion from liters to gallons, we pay about $7.50 per gallon of petrol. |

i absolutely love when repubs brag about tv rankings and fox. you do know they only lead in cable ratings. nbc/abc/cbs DOMINATE overall tv ratings. the only reason fox is even in the picture is because mostly rich/upper-middle class white people own cable. f*cking idiots. lulz. |
