@PvtDeth - Are you joking? Johnny Depp has always done weird roles like this. Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sweeny Todd, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to name a few. |

Burton's on his own. Though I liked Batman and Batman Returns and even Planet of The Apes, even I can't defend this one. If I see it I guarantee you I'll just be giving it the MST3K treatment. |

Does anyone think Burton is laughing himself silly? He made made himself a name with a few good films before, and now he just slaps out any piece of crap he makes and knows its going to make money. I think Depps in on the joke too, you know, pay back to us fans for making him famous, and stinking rich. |

Only Tim Burton would be conceited enough to turn a remake of someone else's work (the original Dark Shadows series) into a repeat of his own work. I mean, is it just me, or does the apparent storyline here seem a helluva lot like Beetlejuice? I generally like Depp as an actor, but I can never shake the icky feeling that he's kinda demeaning himself every time he works with Burton these days. To me this looks like Burton is maybe subconsciously admitting that he's completely run out of any spark of originality, and just relies on hiring Depp to make sure to still get the fangirls watching his crap. |
