Saturday, March 17, 2012 7:34:22 PM Illinois cops are complete assh*les. I was in CA for vacation and we broke down on the highway and the cops asked us if we needed help, then stayed behind us with their lights on until the tow truck came. What would happen in Illinois? They would probably have you cuffed and against the car in 5 minutes for no reason. |

Saturday, March 17, 2012 2:48:28 AM This happened to me in Kansas. It was ridiculous. He told me he pulled me over for going "5 or 6" over then asked to search my car and when i agreed to it he just turned around and walked back to my car. |

Saturday, March 17, 2012 12:50:25 AM Cop: "I pulled you over for swerving around while driving." He then proceeds to try to get permission to search the vehicle without doing a single sobriety test. Yeah, someone is suspicious here, and it isn't anyone in the red vehicle. |

Friday, March 16, 2012 7:01:01 PM Not justified. Some people are control freaks and should not be in any position of power over other people. Unfortunately the government is full of thee people and they are making our lives a living Hell. This officer should be on administrative leave for at least 6 months. |

Friday, March 16, 2012 6:13:44 PM Well, I would go into detail about why our general system of law enforcement, and our whole legal system to a lesser extent, is completely nonsensical, horribly, illogically designed, and just begs to be twisted and abused, but alas, I don't have nearly enough space, so I'll shorten it up... When in doubt it's generally safe to assume a cop is a bullying piece of sht who will do whatever he pleases, including giving family and friends free passes for anything short of murder, just so long as he thinks he'll get away with it, and he usually will unless someone has a recording device on hand and/or the cop pisses enough people off, since otherwise other cops/law enforcement agents will cover up/ignore/lie about the issue until it goes away. On that note, was it an illegal search? Yeah, most likely. Does he care? No. If cops feel like breaking the law, well, that's their birthright as infallible gods among us silly, impotent mortals. Only us lesser beings have to obey la |

Friday, March 16, 2012 2:25:59 PM That stretch of I-70 in Collinsville has found record amounts of drugs and guns and it is well known by locals that the cops aggressively want to search every vehicle they pull over. Unfortunately, they fit the profile, two guys, out of state plates, driving a newer truck or van. This cop was doing what he was trained to do. What he did was an illegal search, but he either doesn't care or doesn't know any different. Locals do not use that stretch of I-70, they use local roads that parallel it instead. It's hard for anyone from out of state to avoid that stretch of I-70 and thus the state and local cops patrol it constantly in search of drugs and guns. That's no excuse for this cops behavior though, he should be disciplined, re-trained, or put on other duty.

Friday, March 16, 2012 1:45:50 PM "Only black people wear Wu Tang shirts" Have you been to a Wu Tang concert Osi? I'm pretty sure white hipsters/bro's/whatever comprise over 75% of Wu Tang's fanbase. There's just more of us than black people. |

Friday, March 16, 2012 12:30:28 PM @MeGrendel, actually DingDingDong is right. The drug war had continued not because it is effective, but because it is profitable. Without that incentive, cops wouldn't do this. |

Friday, March 16, 2012 12:11:37 PM DingDingDong-"This is why the drug war needs to end" Kinda wierd leap of logic there (as in, 'no' logic). Gerry1of1-"That's called a "normal reaction" where i come from." I've never had such a reaction around a cop, and I've had many times where I was happy to see the cop. THIS cop, on the other hand, is an asswipe. |

Friday, March 16, 2012 11:38:03 AM Municipalities can keep money and property that is suspected of being involved in illegal drug activity whither or not the suspect is charged. Officers have a lot of motive to circumvent the civil rights of citizens. This happens alot in border states like Texas. |

Friday, March 16, 2012 10:56:10 AM Hmmm. I see what the problem was. He saw the Wu Tang shirt. Only black people wear Wu Tang shirts, therefore he was just doing his job, pulling over black people to make sure they're not committing any crimes. |
