Some sports fans have no qualms stooping to the lowest slurs, if they think they can 'get inside a players head'.
Thankfully my favorite teams fans, St. Louis Cardinals, are ranked in the top 10 best fans in the nation, nearly every year. We even cheer for great plays made by the opposing team. |

It happens. I played college ball and you'd actually be surprised what people(who are not white) would say to me on the sidelines. I heard it a lot towards teammates and opponents players as well of all colors and backgrounds. I still don't understand it either.
It's a sport, but for whatever reason it just brings out the ugly in fans. Rarely, if ever, will you hear other players stoop to that level. They'll talk crap, but never anything racist or discriminative. It'll usually be something accurate about the way you look lol. |
